In an effort to improve child safety, AdventHealth Waterman is again offering a Safe Sitter® Class to prepare students in sixth to eighth grades important skills when supervising younger siblings alone or babysitting.
The instructor-led class uses fun, role-playing exercises to teach skills related to child care, safety, first aid, and general business practices. The young sitters will also learn how to respond to injuries and illnesses, as well as choking rescue and CPR.
The class will also provide the students basic business skills focusing on how to responsibly screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers to set students up for success.
