Three new chain restaurants open to big crowds
After much anticipation, First Watch, Texas Roadhouse and Mission BBQ hare all open on U.S. 441 Highway in Mount Dora. The chain restaurants are clustered together along the bend between Culvers and the Hampton Inn. At the northern end of the new restaurants and next to Fifth Third Bank, a Circle K is being built.

City of Mount Dora to respond to Lake County's lawsuit
At issue for the two sides is how to share revenues from the expansion of Mount Dora's Northeast Community Redevelopment Area (NECRA), where the County Commissioners approved the new residential development that Mount Dora City Council had opposed. Later those developments were incorporated into Mount Dora's city limits. After Mount Dora's city attorney crafts the language of a counteroffer, it will go before the council for consideration.
