MOUNT DORA ARTS FESTIVAL TO DELIGHT ART LOVERS THIS WEEKEND
Crowds will flock to downtown Mount Dora on February 7 and 8 as the 40th Annual Mount Dora Arts Festival returns. The streets become a sea of white tents as artists from all over the country set up their mini galleries. Painters, jewelers, sculptures, potters and more are ready to sell fine art to art lovers from far and wide, while competing for top prizes. Artists are awarded cash prizes totaling $21,000. Mount Dora has an artsy reputation and visitors often enjoy the atmosphere, as much as the high level of art being displayed at this premier Central Florida show.
Festival attendees are invited to take part in an Art Scavenger Hunt while walking the festival. A prize is awarded to those who complete the hunt. Look for the Art Consultant’s booth next to the information booth to participate or attend one of the short seminars
During the Festival, visitors can also shop in one of downtown Mount Dora's many unique shops that line the streets or dine in one of the many restaurants that range from ethnic cuisine and pubs to small cafes and coffee shops. Attendees can also enjoy musicians that will provide free entertainment at the Donnelly Park Stage from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
