Lots of passion and hard work have been the key ingredients in turning Mount Dora’s Bicycle Festival into one of Central Florida’s premier cycling events.
This year the event expects to double the number of riders from last year’s 1361, according to Tracy Draper, the event’s chairperson. To date, the festival has record registrations for the revamped, three day event starting October 9.
Mount Dora Bicycle Festival has rides ranging from 12 miles to 100 miles, with the most challenging being the Buck Hill coarse. The 12-mile Lake Jem ride is the most family-friendly and is fun for experienced and novice riders.
This year the event will feature a new beer and wine garden on Saturday afternoon, plus include a barbecue lunch on Sunday.
