Better to do the trail next to the tracks...

I agree, If the train could go to some other more distant cities I would use it myself. I'm not inclined to ride to Tavares, but Winter Garden or Orlando would be fantastic. Also it wouldn't be coming and going multiple times in a day which would help appease the folks how have to deal with the noise. They wouldn't hear it so often.

Absolutely 100% do not want this or need it. Gives people 100% permission and rights to be in our back yards. They can't help with crime in out front yards on old 441 and damn sure won't be able to protect our back yards. The woods are housing homeless and Meth camps. This is just a legal highway for them. We don't want side walks out front, and definitely don't want a giant trail out back.

Look at what Winter Garden has become thanks to the West Orange Trail. Lake and Mount Dora must consider the many economic and recreational benefits a trail like this would offer residents and visitors!

As a 18 Mt Dora resident I moved here thinking it would be great place to ride my bike Wrong! lured here by bike festival over the years our roads have become very congested with virtually no shoulders . Cycling has become a stressfull experience in Mt Dora- Tavares area, I drive to Ocoee 2x a week to enjoy the tree lined.West Orange Trail, despite many subdivisions along trail the ride to downtown Winter Garden for coffee is quite enjoyable. I suggest it to any bike rider serious or casual.

In point of fact, there is room to do both the Trail and keep the Train....
