Arguably the most refreshing seafood dish has made its return to downtown Mount Dora with the opening of Ceviche Express in June.
Ceviche is a popular South American seafood dish that originated in Peru. It's typically made from fish, shrimp or octopus which have been marinated and cured in fresh citrus juices. The seafood is often mixed with onion, peppers, cilantro and seasonings, but there are many creative versions of the healthy, low-calorie dish.
Ceviche Express comes on the heels of two other ceviche eateries that were previously at the same location. At its walk-up counter, Ceviche Express offers five varieties with small and large fish versions being $10 and $17. The small shrimp ceviche is $12 and the small and large octopus are $14 and $28. Diners can add fresh guacamole ($5), as well as corn chips or plantain strips ($2).
Ceviche Express is located in downtown Mount Dora inside Mount Dora Marketplace across from the creperie.
