A boil water alert will be in affect for a small portion of the city for a minimum of 48 hours from occurence.
A boil water notice is in effect in Mount Dora for the following areas: - Pine Ave from N Wardell St to US HWY 441 - 20110 US HWY 441 Shipley Law Firm - 20211 US HWY 441 (Animal Wellness Center of Mount Dora) is not in the boil water alert area.
In the process of isolating a 16” water main for the contractor doing the utility relocation on US HWY 441 this morning, the Public Works Department discovered a 8” valve that was closed at the intersection of Pine Ave and North Wardell St. This caused a brief, unplanned outage however due to the loss of pressure and stained water, the City of Mount Dora issued a public boil water notice to the homes and businesses in the affected area. The water is safe to bathe and shower in, but should be boiled for consuming (drinking, cooking, baking, brushing teeth).
