It may be a small town, but Mount Dora isn’t exempt from the national shortage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during the current coronavirus pandemic. Mount Dora Fire Department (MDFD) is taking the proactive step of asking for the public’s help to meet the expected shortage of basic safety equipment for first responders, as well as healthcare workers at AdventHealth Waterman Hospital in Tavares.
MDFD is asking for donations from individuals and companies that may have access to life-saving new surgical masks, N95 masks, gowns and gloves for the people on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19.
Anyone with these items is encouraged to drop them off in the lobby of Mount Dora Police Department at 1300 N. Donnelly Street in Mount Dora.
