MOUNT DORA SEEKS ARTISTS TO DESIGN CITY'S FLAG

Nothing boosts city pride like a bold new flag.  Soon Mount Dora will have its own flag waving outside City Hall.   The quaint Central Florida city is looking to the area’s creative souls to design a flag that simply and distinctly represents the picturesque municipality.

Entries will be judged on the design’s simplicity, meaningful symbolism, use of two to three colors, and its distinctiveness.  Logos, lettering and seals are not permitted and designs must be original creations.

There is no age or residency requirement for artists and up to five designs can be submitted per person.  The deadline for entries is March 17.

Designs will be presented to the Mount Dora City Council for final selection.  A flag dedication ceremony will be held on Flag Day, June 14, 2017, with the council, the Public Arts Commission and the artist with the winning design.
