Members of the Mount Dora Police Department's Special Operation Unit, with assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, concluded a 4-month operation within Mount Dora city limits. The operation, named "Operation: Crackdown" targeted lower and mid-level drug dealers.
As part of the operation, five search warrants were executed resulting in 8 arrests and the seizure of large amounts of marijuana, prescription drugs and multiple firearms, including one firearm stolen from Orlando.
The operation took place this morning at approximately 5:45 a.m., when more than 100 law enforcement officers, including SWAT teams from Mount Dora and Eustis, Lake County Sheriff’s Office and DEA, executed four search warrants in Mount Dora’s northeast and one in the city’s southeast.
