Local children in need often depend on their school’s discounted breakfast and lunch program for their only daily meals. During the summer those meals vanish. The P B & J Challenge, sponsored by Mount Dora Buzz, is a way for residents and businesses to help bridge the gap. The challenge seeks donations of unopened jars of peanut butter and jelly for those children and their families. After completing the task, businesses and groups can message a photo of their thoughtful deed to Mount Dora Buzz on Facebook along with whatever local businesses or groups they would like to challenge. Families, friends, children and co-workers that complete the challenge are encouraged to send Mount Dora Buzz a picture of their kindness, so it can be shared to encourage others to take part in the challenge, too. Participants can take their jars to any of the drop-off locations in Mount Dora, Tavares and Eustis now through June 30. All donated jars will go to Lake Cares Food Pantry for distribution.
