He's been anointed one of the favorite sons of Gator football. Former quarterback Tim Tebow will appear on April 9 at a benefit gala at Mount Dora Christian Academy.
The former University of Florida quarterback and Heisman Trophy winner will speak about his career in football, as well as his significant work with children.
Tebow was drafted by the Denver Broncos and excelled at winning in a clutch position. Off the gridiron, Tebow has a faith-based foundation that assists children in need around the world. Proceeds for the event benefit Mount Dora Children’s Home and Single Parent Program which also aims at helping children.
The gala begins at 6 p.m. in the school's gymnasium. Tickets range from $40 to $200 and were still available at press time. Event sponsors will have the opportunity to meet Tebow personally.
Tickets can be purchased at the academy's Development Office at 301 W. 13th Ave. in Mount Dora.
