A summertime fling for jazz and art enthusiasts, Starry Night, will bring together live entertainment and nationally-known and emerging artists in a benefit for We Care of Lake County.
Live performers will include the “Nightly Groove” band, guitarist Keegan Neverett and pianist Michael McKelvy.
Art lovers can observe local, award-winning artist, Jane Slivka, as she paints one of her Caribbean-inspired acrylic canvases and chats with guests. Artwork, including Slivka's, will be auctioned throughout the evening.
Along with the art and entertainment, the August 26 event at Tavares Pavilion will also feature ample hors d’oeuvres and libations on the waterfront setting.
We Care of Lake County helps uninsured people who meet financial guidelines to get well and move on with their lives. With the help of nearly 100 volunteer specialty physicians and the support of local hospitals and medical facilities, the group has succeeded in helping patients overcome serious illnesses through treatment, procedures and surgeries. The non-profit's newest project, We Care We Share, recycles used medical equipment, giving away over 500 pieces of necessary equipment to hundreds of Lake County residents in just the last six months. Hospital beds, walkers, shower chairs, and other equipment are available at no charge to people in need.
Tickets for “Starry Night for Art & Jazz” are on sale now, $50/single; $75/couple. Call We Care of Lake County (352-742-0021 ext. 11)
