MOUNT DORA'S CHALLENGING CORN MAZE RETURNS

9/21/2015

Get lost.  And have a blast doing it.

The annual corn maze at Long & Scott Farm opens on October 3.  The popular seasonal attraction brings in an estimated 1500-2000 weekend visitors, according to Rebecca Ryan, the farm's agri-tainment manager.

A soldier along with other military elements are cut into pathways in the 6-acre corn maze to convey this year's theme "A Salute to Our Armed Forces".   Visitors that dare can enter the maze and attempt to find their way out of the tall and twisting corn field.  No need to panic.  It's a friendly day of fun and before an anxiety attack kicks in, participants can raise a flag to surrender and be promptly rescued.

There is also a one-acre corn maze for smaller guests, plus a 3-acre live Tree Maze in the shape on an ear of corn.  The popular attraction also includes an over-sized jumping pillow, 60' super slide, kids' zip line, picnic area, mist maze, hayrides, country market and other activities. This year the farm will also feature a new obstacle course and Tot Lot play area for younger kids.

Scott's Maze Adventure is open on Saturdays (10 am-5 pm) and Sundays (1 pm-5 pm) between Oct. 3 and Dec. 13.   It is recommended to get there early to avoid long lines.    The maze season runs through December 13.  The farm is located at 26216 County Road 448A, Mount Dora.

Large groups can make reservations for admission on Tuesdays-Fridays.  Cost for children is $9 and adults is $11.
