Every year the Easter Bunny works overtime in Mount Dora making sure kids have plenty of opportunities to hunt for Easter eggs. Here are just some of the free local egg hunts for kids, listed in chronological order:
Eustis Easter Egg Hunt Where: Eustis Memorial Library, 120 North Center St. When: March 30, 10:30-11 a.m. Ages: 6 years and under (must be walking) Cost: Free Details: Children will get a bag to hold their eggs and goodies and instructions for the hunt at the library’s Children’s Desk.
Easter Egg Hunt Where: Golden Triangle YMCA playground, 1465 David Walker Road When: March 31, 8:45 a.m. Ages: No restrictions provided Cost: Free Details: The community is invited to bring their baskets and meet on the playground to enjoy a big Easter egg hunt.
Mount Dora Easter Egg Hunt Where: W.T. Bland Library, 1995 N. Donnelly St. When: March 31, 10 a.m. Ages: 10 years & Under Cost: Free Details: Thousands of Easter Eggs are scattered on the front lawn for kids to hunt. Photo op with the Easter Bunny, free book giveaways, enjoy a balloon artist, PAWS Therapy Dogs kissing booth, popcorn and of course, sweet treats. Kids should bring their own baskets. No registration required.
Helicopter Egg Drop: Where: Frank Brown Sports Complex, 1245 Pine Ave., Mount Dora When: March 31, 10am-Noon Ages: 10 years and under Cost: Free Details: 25,000 plastic candy-filled Easter Eggs will drop from a helicopter. 50 of those eggs will have tickets for toy prizes. Lunch will also be provided starting at 11:30 a.m. Hosted by TheCross Mount Dora.
Tavares Easter Egg Hunt Where: Adventure Christian Church, 3701 N Eichelberger Road When: March 31, 11 a.m. Ages: Pre-K through 5th grade Cost: Free Details: Egg hunt followed by hot dogs for lunch.
