Bring on the kilts. Mount Dora’s Scottish Highland Festival comes to Gilbert Park on Saturday, November 18. The free festival celebrates Scottish culture with special events, food, and even a re-enactment camp.
Saturday’s family-friendly events begin at 10:00 a.m at Gilbert Park. Throughout the day there will be athletic games, dancing, sheep herding demonstrations with border collies, bagpipes, and traditional Scottish food and vendors with Scottish merchandise. The Tartan parade begins at noon on Liberty Street.
A Friday night concert, Night of the Tartan, will be held on the waterfront at Evans Park. North America’s premiere Celtic band, the Tartan Terrors, will be featured, as well asMount Dora’s Pipes and Drums. The free concert is from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
