Mount Dora is kicking off the area's Independence Day celebrations with its 3rd Annual “Freedom on the Waterfront” on July 3.
The event will take place along the city's downtown lakefront which includes Simpson Cove and Elizabeth Evans Park at the southern end of Donnelly Street.
The celebration has several activities planned for all ages including a large kid’s area filled with games and inflatable attractions beginning at 4 p.m.
At 5 PM, the stage in Evans Park will host musicians such as horizon country artist, Bailey Callahan, plus Ennis Pruit tand other bands. A variety of merchandise and food vendors will also be on hand.
Parking is available at the Methodist Church parking lot located on 5th Avenue, downtown, as well as at Mount Dora High School which will have free shuttle service.
All eyes will be set on the sky at 9:15 as a 20-minute, choreographed fireworks display caps off the day.
On July 4th, an old-fashioned 4th of July parade starts at 10 a.m. on Donnelly Street, downtown. The parade is sponsored by the Mount Dora Rotary Club. Get the complete schedule of Independence Day events for Mount Dora, Tavares & Eustis here.
